Scheduling & Cancellations
-
Life happens! Please let me know as soon as you can if you need to cancel. If we have advance notice, we may be able to reschedule — but most often we’ll simply skip that week.
-
No. There’s no payment or penalty for lessons you need to cancel. (This is different from many studios that charge for missed lessons, even with notice.)
-
Because teaching is not my primary job, there may be times I also need to cancel — especially during busy church seasons. I appreciate your understanding, and I’ll extend the same grace if you need to cancel.
Books & Music
-
Lessons are taught primarily with the Faber Piano Adventures series. Each level usually requires four books, which students purchase as they progress.
Any needed supplemental materials will be provided. Students can also choose extra books based on their interests — Disney, hymns, or other favorite styles are always welcome!

Getting Started & Stopping
-
Getting started is simple! Just reach out to check availability.
A phone call or email conversation will be all it takes. Together
-
Students generally begin at the elementary level and continue with me until they reach early-intermediate piano skills. At that point, I will recommend transitioning to another teacher who can provide the next level of instruction and opportunities.
-
If you decide to pause or stop lessons, just let me know. I appreciate open communication so I can adjust my schedule. Many students return later or continue their music journey with another teacher.
